Many adults with undiagnosed ADHD have spent years developing coping strategies that mask their difficulties. The full assessment takes 60–90 minutes via secure video. You will complete pre-assessment questionnaires in advance, which allows the clinician to focus the session on in-depth clinical discussion rather than administrative forms.

No — you can self-refer to NeuroAxis directly. No GP referral is required. We recommend sharing your written report with your GP afterwards to support a shared care agreement if medication is part of your pathway.

Yes. Many adults are diagnosed with ADHD for the first time in their 30s, 40s and beyond. NICE guidelines require that symptoms were present in childhood, but they do not require a childhood diagnosis. Our clinicians are experienced in adult presentations where childhood difficulties may not have been formally recognised.

Yes. Under the Equality Act 2010, a diagnosis from a registered UK clinician via a NICE-compliant pathway is valid for requesting workplace adjustments and Access to Work support. For university students, the same report supports Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) applications.

You receive your written report within the agreed timeframe. If ADHD is diagnosed and medication is appropriate, our clinical partner network can begin titration. We also support you in approaching your GP for a shared care agreement, which would transfer prescribing to NHS rates.
